Two people arrested after shooting and stabbing in Troutville

TROUTVILLE, Va. (WDBJ7) -- Two people have been arrested after a shooting and stabbing in Troutville, Va. late Tuesday.

The Botetourt County Sheriff's Office responded to reports of shots fired in the 300 block of Tucker Road Tuesday evening.

When deputies arrived on scene they found a man had been shot and stabbed as well as a female who had been shot.

Deputies arrested Matthew T. Green, 20, of Troutville and Tyler T. Wheetley, 20, of Roanoke.

They are being held at the Botetourt County Jail.

Green was charged with two counts of malicious wounding, reckless handling of a firearm and the use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. Wheetley was charged with one count of malicious wounding and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

The victims in the incident were transported to a Roanoke hospital for treatment.

The incident remains under investigation.
