UVA senior walk on forward Jeff Jones has been declared academically ineligible for the rest of the Virginia basketball season, the school announced Tuesday.

Jones went to high school at St. Anne's-Belfield School in Charlottesville. He has 10 points and 12 rebounds in 35 career appearances for the Cavaliers.

Jones has played in five games this season, hitting his first career 3-pointer in November's 90-34 win over Grambling State.

Jones is the son of Old Dominion men's basketball coach Jeff Jones, who played point guard at UVA from 1979-82 and spent eight seasons as head coach of the Cavaliers from 1990-98.
