ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ7) The Virginia Museum of Transportation got a huge donation this week. A Volvo truck!
It was donated by Volvo Trucks in Dublin as part of a partnership between the two. This 2006 highway tractor V-T 800 Daycab was manufactured right in Dublin for three years.
Bev Fitzpatrick with the VMT says after the fire at the trolley and bus museum last month, this is just another step in the right direction.
“I can give you a good example, we're storing a lot of the stuff we recovered from the fire in trailers. We can move trailers with this. I mean, it's perfect, couldn't have been at a better time,” Fitzpatrick said.
Volvo Trucks representatives say they are proud to have one of their trucks as part of the museum exhibits, and they hope people will climb up into the cab.
