Virginia State Police report over 200 crashes across the state

Virginia State Police have responded to 268 traffic crashes statewide and 126 disabled vehicles Wednesday, according to Corinne Geller, a spokesperson for Virginia State Police.

36 crashes have been recorded in our region.

Virginia State Police is advising Virginians to stay off the roads. If you have to drive, police say to do the following:
-Make sure all windows and lights are clear of snow before heading out.
-Always buckle up - driver and passenger.
-Drive distraction free - put down the phone and coffee and keep both hands on the wheel and eyes on the road.
-Slow speed for conditions.
-Use headlights to increase your visibility and to help other drivers see you better.
-Share the road responsibly with VDOT vehicles and emergency vehicles.
