BLACKSBURG, Va. (WDBJ7) The eclipse is four days away, and folks at Virginia Tech are inviting the Blacksburg community to come view it on campus.

The Holtzman Alumni Center is hosting a watch party Monday afternoon.

Virginia Tech staff, students, and people from the community are invited for several hours of music, food, and scientific talks.

"We're hoping to have some experts from our faculty who can better explain and talk about some of the things that our guests will be seeing, and so every once in a while a faculty expert will come in and talk about the solar eclipse or other things that are having an impact or impacted by the solar eclipse," said Matt Winston, the Senior Associate Vice President for Alumni Relations at Virginia Tech.

The Alumni Association will provide free eclipse viewing glasses for everyone who attends. The party starts at 12:30.
