ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ7) Whether you like boating on the lake, hiking up one of our many mountains, or just taking in the scenery, Virginia is for lovers of everything. So, it only makes sense that love signs are popping up all over the place.
“We call them LOVEworks. And these are a set of letters spelling out L-O-V-E that communities have embraced,” said Rita McClenny, President and CEO Virginia Tourism Corporation.
The letters are the same, but each has its own special flare.
“The thing about the Love letter is you can incorporate as a locality any kind of image that you feel represents you, so we have the gamut in terms of the outdoor experience, history, anything that's an asset that a particular area has to offer to their visitors. We have almost 100 around the Commonwealth. We have people traveling to visit each one of them and posting them on social media,” explained McClenny.
“It's just really taking love and highlighting it as a central part of what's at the heart of people vacationing because you vacation with people that you love. We really are spreading the love around the world,” she said.
