WDBJ7 introduces Lexington Bureau

By  |

LEXINGTON, Va. (WDBJ7) WDBJ announced Monday the launch of our newest bureau, based in Lexington. It is the first and only bureau with a full-time crew in the northern part of our viewing area.

"We couldn't be more excited about the launch of the Lexington Bureau,” WDBJ7 News Director David Hughes said. “Lexington is an amazing community. Adding this resource will give us an even better opportunity to share stories that impact this wonderful area."

The bureau joins other WDBJ offices in Lynchburg, the New River Valley and Danville. Being in Lexington gives Channel 7 a more immediate presence not only in Rockbridge County, but in other areas more distant from the station’s studios in Roanoke, allowing more attention to areas like Clifton Forge and Covington, as well as Bath and Highland counties.

"This is just another example of WDBJ7's commitment to giving our viewers in Southwest Virginia the absolute best news coverage of their community,” Hughes said.

Viewers can expect WDBJ7 to deliver even more coverage of this part of Southwest Virginia.
