ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ7) A water main break is affecting areas in Northeast Roanoke Friday night, according to Roanoke City Police.
A 12-inch water line broke around 7:40 p.m. The break is affecting the intersection of Hollins Road and Georgia Avenue NE.
Hollins Road NE is closed between Pocahontas Avenue and Mohawk Avenue. Traffic is being detoured in that area.
The water has been turned off. The water should be restored and the road should be re-opened within six to eight hours.
People should avoid the area of Hollins Road or detour around it.
