West Virginia manufacturer plans to create 60 jobs in Giles County with relocation

GILES COUNTY, Va. (WDBJ7) A vacant manufacturing facility in Giles County is coming back to life with an investment from a company that is currently operating in West Virginia.

Cogar Manufacturing, a company that produces material handling equipment for natural resource industries, will invest $2.5 million to relocate its manufacturing operation from Beckley, West Virginia, according to a statement from Virginia Governor Ralph Northam's office.

Cogar's new facility will be located in a former Caterpillar facility in Pearisburg, the Governor's release said.

60 jobs are expected to be created through the project, which is being supported by a $150,000 award from the "Commonwealth's Opportunity Fund" administered through the Governor's office.
