LYNCHBURG, Va. (WDBJ7) In Lynchburg, The Westminster Caterbury retirement community is expanding.
A groundbreaking ceremony was held this morning for a new health center.The six story building will include 84 private rooms. The entire project, which includes renovations to the current dining and wellness areas, is expected to cost 49-million dollars.
"It's a neighborhood model. Not a medical set up. It's all private rooms, private baths, showers. And it's just something different than Central Virginia's ever seen before," said Sean Huyett, CEO of Westminster Canterbury Lynchburg.
Phase one of construction on the campus will start July 24th. The project is expected to be completed by 2019.
