Woman arrested, items collected as evidence during narcotics search warrant in Martinsville

MARTINSVILLE, Va. (WDBJ7) A woman was arrested and several items were seized in reference to a narcotics search warrant in Martinsville Wednesday, according to Martinsville Police.

Officers conducted a search warrant at a home in the 800 block of Clark Road. When searching the home, they collected items associated with the use and distribution of narcotics, including pills, mushrooms, digital scales, baggies, numerous syringes, smoking devices, pill crushers, spoons with residue and mirrors with powdery residue. Ammunition and several debit cards in different names were also collected.

The Martinsville Fire & EMS and Martinsville Building Officials helped with the search warrant. The house was condemned by a building official due to ingress/egress and sanitation issues. Additionally, the Martinsville Animal Control officer put one dog and six cats into protective custody.

Cynthia Roknich, 56, was charged with two counts of selling or distributing schedule I/II narcotics. She is being held in the Martinsville City Jail without bond.

According to Martinsville Police Chief Sean Dunn, additional charges are expected in this case.

The investigation is ongoing.
