BEDFORD CO., Va. (WDBJ7) Prosecutors say they're getting help from the Welch family as they continue to investigate the Lyon sisters' murder in Bedford County.

Bedford's acting commonwealth's attorney says Amy Johnson is "attempting to cooperate" with the Lyon sisters' investigation.

Johnson is facing a misdemeanor count of obstructing justice in relation to the Lyons case.

Prosecutors say they expect to resolve her charges before her scheduled trial begins in January.

Johnson's cousin Lloyd Lee Welch Jr. is charged with killing Katherine and Sheila Lyon back in 1975.
