Amber Bruffy started a Christmas toy drive three years ago to help supplement the toys going out to foster children in the area.
Bruffy herself became a foster parent in 2012 and adopted her son, Logan shortly after.
The LU Nursing faculty member says her heart for foster children has grown since going through the experience herself. "Obviously with my son I just have a passion for that population in our city and I really wanted to give back to the kids and to social services as well as all the services they offer our community," explained Bruffy.
There are currently 112 Lynchburg children in foster care in the Hill City.
