Wythe County Public Schools releases statement on shooting threat at Fort Chiswell High School

WYTHE COUNTY, Va. (WDBJ) Wythe County Public Schools has released a statement about a shooting threat at Fort Chiswell High School.

On their facebook page, they said, "We discovered a threat which was written on a bathroom stall at Fort Chiswell High School. The threat indicated that there would be a shooting at Fort Chiswell High School today. We take every threat of this nature seriously but we do not feel that this is a legitimate safety concern. We have extra law enforcement officers present at Fort Chiswell High School & Fort Chiswell Middle School. We intend on having school today and we feel that all students and staff will be safe."
