Charlottesville at Salem

SALEM, VA. (WDBJ7) -- The defending 4A champs from Salem had won 10 consecutive home playoff games, putting that mark on the line against Charlottesville in the opening round.

Some of the senior Spartans leading the charge through the banners ready to make it 11 home playoff wins.

And they would rely on their work horse, De'Angelo Ramsey who bounces outside here to and rumbles for about a 25 yard gain.

Then it's Ramsey again, this time up the middle, makes a quick move and slips a tackle. It's cruise control from that point as he takes it in from 37 yards out for the first score of the game.

After a quick three and out by Charlottesville, Salem is back on the move. Jack Gladden hits Viante Tucker but he coughs it up!

Black Knights Samuel Neale dives quickly on the ball. We're headed the other way.

A few plays later, Neale is back to pass and fires to Jackson Poe who makes an incredible one-handed grab before dragging a few Spartans to inside the five yard line.

That sets up this quarterback keeper from Neale who is able to power his way into the endzone to tie this one at 7.

But Salem would be too much to handle on this night as Ramsey finds pay dirt again for the Spartans.

Salem cruises to the next round 70-34 over Charlottesville.
