Chase Elliott wins Trucks Race at Martinsville

MARTINSVILLE, Va. Chase Elliott started on the pole and led 92 laps of the Alpha Energy Solutions 250 Saturday.

Elliott and teammate, Johnny Sauter, were running 2nd and 3rd with under 20 laps to go, when leader Christopher Bell got into lap traffic, making contact with Austin Cindric.

That brought out the caution and allowed Elliott and Sauter to get by, and Elliott would hang on from there, taking the checkered flag. It's Elliott's first win at Martinsville, and his second career Camping World Truck Series victory.

"I'd been racing Christopher (Bell) really hard," said Elliott: "I was doing all I could to get by him and he was doing a good job of controlling my bumper when I was hitting him. He did a good job of keeping me behind him. So I'm glad we could capitalize on a little bit of misfortune for him and gain that one spot from last fall. It was a fun race. I hope everybody enjoyed watching it. We were all trying really hard and I was glad we could pull it out."
