Dinwiddie at Salem

It was a packed house at Salem Stadium and the Superfans were bringing the spirit Friday night.

Their team trailed 3-zip before Jack Gladden on the play fake, goes up top for Luke Owen and he hauls it in for the 28 yard TD and the Spartans had the lead 7 to 3.

The defense then made a play. K'Vaughan Pope was on the run and he throws it up but Joseph Quinn is there to make the interception for the Spartans to thwart the drive.

But they gave it right back on a fumble inside the five and Pope cashed in with the sneak from a yard out.

The second of two Dinwiddie field goals made it a 13-7 game in favor of the Generals.

And then Deangelo Ramsey got loose. He had a big night and this 40 yard gallop in the half's final minute put Salem on the doorstep inside the 15 yard line.

Tae Hale then did the rest from short yardage giving the Spartans the lead again at 14-13.

Late in the third quarter, it's Pope again for the visitors. He's off to the races on the TD. The two teams swapped the lead twice more but Dinwiddie held on to win it 25 to 20. The Spartans had 7 fumbles and lost three in the loss.
