MARTINSVILLE, Va. (WDBJ7) Rain wiped out qualifying Friday at Martinsville putting points leader Kyle Larson on the pole with Chase Elliott on the outside of row one.
Larson has been the story over the first month of the season.
A short track win just might be the latest addition to Larson's resume.
The season is still young, but no one has been hotter at this point than Larson. After three consecutive 2nd-place finishes and a win last week at Fontana, Larson comes into Martinsville as the points-leader. But even still, he says racing here at the Paperclip hasn't always been something he's looked forward to.
"This was probably the one race I look forward to the least coming to in my NASCAR career," Larson says, "but I never drove anything like this until just a few years ago when I started stock car racing so my learning curve was way behind the guys who grew up doing this stuff but I feel like I'm competitive now and really could challenge for some wins on these tracks."
