Liberty Flames Rack Up Big South Softball Honors

The Big South tourney is being held this week at Longwood and Tuesday several Liberty Flames picked up some hardware.
Amber Bishop is the conference freshman of the year after clubbing 10 homeruns and driving in 52 runs this season. She has 20 multi hit games.
Julia DiMartino is the league's pitcher of the year. DiMartino went 17 and 9, including an 11 and 3 conference mark with a 1.78 earned run average. She pitched 48 consecutive scoreless innings during April, going over two weeks without allowing a single run.
And for the first time, Dot Richardson is the Big South Coach of the Year. The Flames 35 and 20 record was highlighted by a 13 game winning streak in the month of April. They enter the conference tournament with a 16 and 5 record and the top seed.
