DANVILLE, Va. (WDBJ7) Martinsville head coach Orion Martin was a standout player at George Washington High School in Danville. On Friday night, Martin was back at home with his Bulldogs at JT Christopher Stadium.

The Eagles and Dawgs battled in FFE's Subway Spotlight Game of the Week.

Coach Orion Martin and his Bulldogs were looking for their first win over the GW Danville Eagles in his time as head coach at Martinsville. Ironically it was Homecoming for GW Danville with Martin back at his alma mater Friday night.

The Eagles won the last three meetings by an average scoring margin of 39 points and they got rolling with the scoring on their second possession of the game. Kuashaun Forest, with the ball, was able to run the 21-yard score. The Eagles would go up 7-0.

In the second quarter, GW's Sam Branch scored another one of his three touchdowns in the game. GW Danville would take the 21-6 lead into the locker room.

The Eagles defense would come up big in this matchup.

Forest would add a second touchdown in the fourth quarter for his 17th rushing touchdown of the season. He ran for more than 220 yards in the game.

Martinsville scored a late touchdown on a great play from Eric Bratcher hauling in a 36-yard score in double coverage, but GW Danville is able to stay out front and win its 4th-straight over Martinsville 35-14.
