Pulaski, Danville Set To Open Appalachian League Season

The Pulaski Yankees open the 2018 Appalachian League season on the road tomorrow night in Danville, and the new players are getting accustomed to their new surroundings.
Monday was picture day at Calfee Park before the Yanks hit the road.
It's a team that has plenty of arms in the pitching rotation, and while a good portion of the players on the roster are just beginning their pro careers, it's a team that has designs on making the Appy League Championship Series for a second straight year.
When the Danville Braves take the field against the Yankees, it will mark the second year of
Barrett Kleinknecht's (Klank-en-neck) managerial career after he made his debut in the Gulf Coast League last season.
Kleinknecht is just 29 years old and isn't too far removed from his playing days in the Braves organization. He's been through most of the same things that his current players are going through at the moment in rookie ball and his experience in the game should give him some credibility with his new team.
