Salem at Pulaski County

DUBLIN, Va. (WDBJ7) Coming into Friday night, Salem has won seven games in a row against Pulaski County. The two teams renewed their rivalry in Dublin where the Cougars needed a win to nail down a postseason berth without needing help from others.

But it was tough sledding for the Cougars. Pulaski found themselves down 49-7 at the half.

And Salem would come out and tack on some more in the third quarter. Noah Beckley handed it off to Avante Robinson. He took it 26 yards and got pushed out right before the goal line. Robinson finished what he started from five yards out and the Spartans go up 56-7.

Give Pulaski credit though. They could have just rolled over, but they kept battling. Bryant Grubb rolled out and then aired it out. He connected with Dontay Brown for the 41-yard gain.

And the Cougars would cap off a drive of their own. Jamall Edmonds is in there from two yards out and breaks the plane before the ball comes out. But it wouldn't be enough. Salem wins it, 56-14.
