Former Virginia Tech fullback, Sam Rogers, says it's been a great experience watching his dreams of playing in the NFL come true.
The former walk-on at Tech was drafted in the 6th round by the LA Rams on Saturday, and was the first fullback taken in the entire draft. It was a moment that Rogers says he'll will never forget.
"It was a stressful day, you know, you're just waiting around for that call," said Rogers. "I had talked with my agent a little bit before the Rams called, and he said that they were interested but he wasn't sure if they were going to draft me or not. And then a couple of minutes later, I got a call from the Rams. The head coach asked me if I wanted to become a Ram, and I don't remember much after that. I was so excited, and I was crying. It's something that you dream about, and you don't want to say that you're surprised, but it's awesome. I just feel so blessed and fortunate to be in this situation. I've had so many good people around me to make this happen, and it's an awesome feeling."
