Staunton River at Lord Botetourt

DALEVILLE, Va. Staunton River knocked heads with Lord Botetourt in the Class 3, Region D title tilt. The Golden Eagles beat the Cavaliers 21-14 in the regular season.

Grayson Overstreet and the Eagles on top 28 to 10 at the break, but it was far from over.

Botetourt going to the bag of tricks. The double pass from Preston Martin to Jake Dewease down the field to Dylan Maclachlan and LB was right back in it down, 28 to 17.

But Staunton River has an answer. The rare pass play and Kalip Jones puts it up for TJ Tester who is all by himself in the endzone as the Golden Eagles extended the lead once more.

The Cavs hang tough. More tricks here on the hook and lateral as Hunter Rice takes it in on the touchdown.

Overstreet got loose though early in the fourth quarter. He finds a hole and the endzone and Overstreet just wouldn't let the Cavaliers get close.

He scored again late in the final quarter to put this one on ice.
Tester finished things off with an interception of Martin with under two minutes to go. Staunton River is headed back to the state semis thanks to a 49 to 31 win over Lord Botetourt.
