Tunstall vs. Martinsville

MARTINSVILLE, Va. (WDBJ7) Give it up for the Giles High School Marching Band. Welcome back everybody. The Martinsville Bulldogs played their first home game of the season at Dan Greene Stadium tonight. It was also the home debut for first year head coach and Giles product Nathan Tanner as the Dogs hosted Tunstall.

Lugnut was barking in Southside tonight.

Just before halftime it was 14-nothing 'Dogs and Trevor Lovelace turns in the 7 yard TD run for Tunstall to help the Trojans cut the Martinsvile lead in half at the break.

Martinsville too much though. Dewayne Hairston on the nice run here for 11 yards and it was first and goal.

Two plays later, Nigel Davis on the four yard run up the middle for the touchdown made it 21-7 Martinsville.

Tunstall kept hanging around though. Clay Hardy breaks two tackles and refuses to go down on a big 27 yard pickup.

On the same drive, the Trojans go for it on fourth down and Lovelace gets the conversion to move the sticks.

Into the fourth quarter, and on third and goal, it's Lovelace again to the left. The three yard Tunstall 21 Martinsville 28 touchdown run and it was 21-14 but that's as close as it got. Martinsville got the dub, 28-21.
