VMI Holds Media Day Festivities In Lexington

The VMI Keydets are two practices into preseason camp and Tuesday the players and coaches went in front of the cameras and microphones for media day festivities here at Alumni Field.
There was the order of the team picture to take care of but perhaps more pressing for third year head coach Scott Wachenheim is replacing 23 letter winners from last year including 7 offensive starters. Priority number one is finding a quarterback where Salem product Austin Coulling is in the midst of the competition.
Whoever is under center, the offense will look quite a bit different as Coach Wachenheim tries to get back to running the ball more consistently starting with the season opener at Air Force.

"You have to be adaptable to the talent that you have," says Head Coach Scott Wachenheim, "and when we go here we had the all time leading passer in Al Cobb playing quarterback and we had the all time leading receiver in Aaron Sanders and the offense was tailored to them. Now we have some pretty good running backs that we recruited and we're gonna try to be a much better running team than we were last year."
