W&L lacrosse prepares for Sewanee

LEXINGTON, Va. (WDBJ7) The Division III NCAA Lacrosse Tournament gets officially underway Wednesday night, with Washington & Lee set to host Sewanee in opening round action Wednesday evening in Lexington.

The Generals are making their first appearance in the NCAA Tournament since 2013, after their ODAC Championship victory over Lynchburg College this past weekend.

W&L has now won 13 of their past 14 games, and they hope to carry that momentum into tonight by just doing what they've done all season long.
Jack Clarke, Washington & Lee Senior Midfielder: "Just one ground ball at a time, one save at a time, one clear at a time, one ride at a time. Keep focusing on the present, keep focusing on the details, and slowly but surely everything will fall into place. I think if we keep doing what we're doing, we keep working hard in practice, things will keep rolling for us."

Gene McCabe, Washington & Lee Head Coach: "Each day I just felt like this group came to improve everyday. That's the key. That's where growth and learning happens, and that's how you can do something special. This group is good at that, and the one thing that we have is a bunch of guys that believe in each other. So anything can happen."
