BOTETOURT COUNTY, Va (WDBJ7) -- In Daleville, Lord Botetourt was fresh off that huge win over Blacksburg, trying to avoid a letdown tonight against Western Albemarle.
The Cavs were clinging to a 7-6 lead in the second quarter when Western quarterback Derek Domecq keeps the ball and just as he is about to be brought down he laterals to Jack Wayher who gets ten yards to keep the chains moving.
The Warriors finish the drive as Domecq throws to Wyatt Hall. He makes the grab and then scoots to the house on a 63 yard strike. It was Hall's second TD of the night and the Warriors led 14-7 after the two point conversion.
Western on the move again later but Domecq loses the handle and Dylan Machachian falls on it for Lord Botetourt.
The Cavaliers took advantage of that miscue as Trey Rice boots the 41 yard field goal right through the uprights as LB drew to within 14-10 at the half.
To the third quarter now. Evan Eller calls his own number and picks up 12 yards and a first down to keep a drive alive.
Eller doing it all by himself a few plays later. That touchdown proved to be the difference. Botetourt came back to win it by a final of 17 to 14.
