Sunday's race at Martinsville will be a homecoming event for the Wood Brothers and driver Ryan Blaney.
Wednesday Blaney took a few spins around the track in the pace car ahead of this weekend. It's been a good start to 2017 for Blaney who is 7th in the standings thanks in part to 3 top ten finishes in 5 events.
A win Sunday would be especially sweet for the Wood Brothers, including NASCAR Hall of Famer Leonard Wood who remembers the first race at the 70 year old track in 1947.
"I remember Glenn and I standing over here on the back stretch at the first race here 70 years ago," Leonard said. "I think it would be really cool 70 years later for us to be sitting right here Sunday evening after the race and putting that Motorcraft Ford Fusion up front."
