<b>Doughnuts</b><br> <b>Coming soon at Beavers Coffee &amp; Donuts</b><br> This was the year doughnuts became a thing in Chicago, and my favorite purveyors don't even have a physical address. Beavers Coffee &amp; Donuts is a food truck that operated on private property, thereby circumventing onboard cooking laws. A machine plopped out rings of batter into hot oil, and the hot and airy mini-doughnuts that emerged were magnificent. Now they'll anchor down at the Chicago French Market, with a mid-December opening planned.
