Rescue team receives state recognition

ELLICH / May 8, 2012 ) The Somerset County Swiftwater/Flood Response Team received the Pennsylvania Voluntary Rescue Service Recognition as one of four teams identified in the state to achieve the highest level of recognition. Southern Alleghenies EMS Council Executive Director Sandra Jablonski presented the team with the certificate Tuesday at the county commissioner¿s meeting. Scott A. Grahn, water rescue instructor trainer fr the Pennsylvania Fish an Boat Commission, accepted the certificate for the team. The certificate is jointly issued by the state¿s Department of Health, the Fish and Boat Commission and the Office of the State Fire Commissioner. Southern Alleghenies EMS Council is a nonprofit organization, contracted by the state to be the lead agency to work with expanding and improving the EMS system in Somerset, Bedford, Blair, Cambria, Fulton and Huntingdon counties. |
