Supernatural beings will be on musical display Saturday (Nov. 3) at Northern State University as the Aberdeen University/Civic Symphony presents an all-orchestral program, “Gods & Monsters.”

The concert, which begins at 7:30 p.m. in the Johnson Fine Arts Center auditorium, opens the 50-member symphony’s 2012-13 season, “Musical Passions.”

The program includes Mozart’s “Jupiter Symphony” and Debussy’s tone poem, “Prelude to the Afternoon of a Faun,” performed in honor of the 150th anniversary of the composer’s birth. The program will open with “Superman Returns” by John Williams and conclude with the 1919 Suite from Igor Stravinsky’s ballet “The Firebird.”
