Elizabeth Taylor, star of stage and screen who married multiple times, became a successful businesswoman and helped to pioneer the fight against AIDS, died of congestive heart failure on Wednesday, March 23, 2011.

Elizabeth Taylor
Elizabeth Taylor began her career in movies as a teenager and has won Oscars for roles in "Butterfield 8" in 1960 and "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf" in 1966. She also won a special Oscar, the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award, mainly for her work as an AIDS activist in 1993.
