Ok, I’m the first to admit I need some help in the bra and panty department. My producer had to literally force me to get new bras last year. It almost killed me to pay $60 for ONE bra. But after a trip to DC, she coerced me to get a fitting by the experts and to invest. Needless to say I was wearing the wrong size bra and my “girls” looked much perkier once I got my new bras. I bought two of them. Of course, I’m getting my monies worth and wear them almost every day.
Our expert from Derriere de Soie had some great advice on the show. They have bras that go up to size 44i. I didn’t realize I needed to get fitted so often and that small things can actually change your bra size. Now that I’m on my weight loss kick I’m hoping that I won’t be rejoining the itty bitty titty committee. Of course that will require another bra fitting lol. I hope you enjoyed this segment as much as I did.
On real talk, our relationship experts Charles and Silva always keep it real. I was surprised to learn that some men like flowers too. I don’t think I’ve ever gotten a man flowers, maybe a teddy bear. Now I will have to rethink my strategy. I do agree with their recommendation of date night. I think you have to make the person feel special. One time for a guy I was dating, I turned my living room into a spa and gave him a pedicure. He LOVED it! Ladies you should try this on your man. I don’t know if his feet looked any better but he at least felt special and that was my point.
Speaking of feeling special – after watching our segment on how to turn your bathroom into your own personal spa retreat, I’m convinced my bathroom needs a complete overhaul. I’m not even sure I have the expertise to do it. I will need to call in the experts on this one.
I’ve had too much fun over the past few months. It’s hard to believe our season is over. Time truly does fly when you are having fun! I can’t thank you enough for your support this season. Partnering with WDBJ7 for our third season has truly been a blessing for the show. We are already planning for season four and it will be even better. The best is yet to come!

If you know me, you know I’m always working on my body, trying to get it back to the way it was in college (ok, maybe not college, but close!) I was SO inspired by Ashley Horner who came on the show to talk about ways to really take your fitness to the next level by making changes to the way you eat and workout. Many of us may feel like it’s been so long since we’ve had the body we wanted or never had it or that it’s out of reach, but Ashley gave some great tips on how to make the most of your workouts. A big part of that---clean eating! There’s a saying that goes, “Abs are made in the kitchen” and that is so true. She talked about how making small changes in your eating habits can make a huge difference and I am going to try some of her suggestions. She also talked about weight training and how some women shy away from it because they think they’ll get too bulky. Ashley says that’s not genetically possible and recommends weight training even over cardio. And when you see the shape Ashley’s in, you’ll definitely take her word for it!
This week on Real Talk our experts Charles Johnson and Silva Harapetian really broke it down about the importance of keeping the romance alive and “Dating Your Mate” again. Ladies, you need to have your men watch this show. With everyone’s busy schedules nowadays and so many distractions (cell phones, TV, Ipads, etc.) it’s really important to make a commitment to having a date night each week and to be creative! One of their suggestions was a “staycation” where you surprise your honey with a stay at a local hotel! Now that’s thinking outside the box. Whether you’re in a relationship or not, I encourage you to try to make someone you care about feel special this week and see how they light up.
On Successfully You, Kelly Goldsmith gave some really great advice on how to get the most money when trying to sell your stuff. I had no idea that silver-plated items are MUCH less valuable than sterling silver and that if you take your sterling silver to a shop to sell it, most of the time you’ll only get about half of what it’s worth. A lot of good information there. As always if you didn’t catch the show you can watch clips on wdbj7.com/joy. Until next time, I encourage you to take some time this week to find your joy.

I’m the first to admit I often need help in the love department. I’ve often wondered if there is really a formula to finding love. Do opposites really attract? Do I need to have a list of qualities and stick to it? What caught my eye about Selective Search is the firms’ track record. To have an 87 percent success rate is huge. In fact, I was astonished that men were willing to pay $25,000 or more just to find a love a lifetime. I have to be honest my initial thought was why not just go to the islands and find you a girl. I’m sure it would be a lot cheaper lol. I’m just kidding, well sort of. It was good to get some advice and to see if I’m on the right track. I think the biggest thing I learned is to be open. Attraction is not always what you expect and is not always instant. I hope this will help all my single girlfriends as well.
After all that advice, if you still need some help in the love department the Flirty Girl workout is the way to go. This workout will give you confidence and make you feel more at peace about being a little flirty with the boys. It’s also a great workout. You would never know Maka just had a baby a couple of months ago. These types of workouts keep her in shape. The class is offered at Gold’s North Roanoke. I’m promising myself by months end, I will give it a try. I’ve always wanted to be in a music video. I guess here is my chance with no cameras rolling – Thank God!
We only have two more shows left for this season. The last two shows will be among our best. As always thanks for watching. And let me know what you think about my new Beyonce look. Yes, I’ve added some clip-in extensions to my hair. I was surprised at how natural it looked. I had told myself I would never wear weave – now I see why so many women are addicted to it.
Sending all the best,

I’m planning to make my list with all of the people I need to forgive. I know there are a couple of people, at least. One that stands out right away is a relative who borrowed money from me years ago but only paid less than a fraction of the debt back...urrghh. She still owes me $200 and I’m still upset about it. I’ve tried to let it ago over the years but I’ve not truly forgiven. While I love my relative, it has created somewhat of a distance in my heart. But after listening to Forgiveness Coach Eileen Barker, I’m going to try and employ some of her strategies. I’m also hoping to take one of her free teleseminars or maybe go to a forgiveness retreat. I do believe there is something healing about forgiveness. Just being in Eileen’s presence was therapeutic. You could just feel the sense of peace in her life. I don’t know about you but I want more of that!
I enjoyed our parenting panel this week on spoiling our kids. Dr. Judi Love Bowman is deep, that’s all I have to say. She breaks it down and keeps it real. It’s no wonder she raised a son who was the valedictorian of his class and is now at Harvard. It was also special treat to have the owners of the parenting magazine Growing Up in the Valley on our panel. They were very candid and open and gave some great parenting advice. Just in case you’re wondering – I do feel my sister is a little spoiled!!! In fact, she now has my waterbed (at least the frame) in her house now. Yes, that’s right, the one I slaved over when I was 13 to buy myself since my parents wanted to make me earn it.
Speaking of money, who would’ve thought that you could save so much by making small changes to your life. I LOVED the idea of making your own makeup for a fraction of the cost. Just in case you missed that tip, all you do is mix Vaseline with some old eye shadow or blush to create the color you want! You have to check out #savethisbuythat on twitter with Member One. They have some great advice!
I’m excited about next week’s show. Find out the formula for finding the love of a lifetime and we’ll show you a new workout routine that will bring out the flirty girl in YOU!
Have a great week everybody!
