'Survivor' Recap: Create a Little Chaos

Cue Violins*

The opening 5 minute of tonight’s episode was really sad. We focused on the Debbie Downer tribe, Matsing. As the camera zooms in on Malcolm’s pruny hands, you hear the sad music playing. This tribe is in the dumps. Shivering with no fire, the tribe looks depressed.

Cue Dramatic Inspirational Music*

Confessional after confessional with each member telling us that it is not over and they will fight in this game. Could this be a possible foreshadowing? Possible! Russell kept saying the word ‘comeback’ so that means at least one member of that alliance will go far in the game

Breaking News!

Abi-Maria is crazy

…and on our continuing coverage of the RC vs. Abi-Maria Drama. AM found the clue to the immunity idol near RC possessions. She asks out loud, in front of her tribe, what is this. Without a beat Pete responds with –the clue to the idol. Okay, that right there shows why he is guilty… But you can’t expect Abi to be sane. She blames RC for digging up the clue and leaving it in shelter.

Now for the awkward part, everyone now knows of the clue so this lead to Abi’s reading of the clue out loud. Yikes! Pete is loving this because he knows this will drive the two apart. Pete wants to create chaos so that no one feels safe. It is a great move but he is dumb to work with Abi-Maria. She is irrational and it is like playing with fire. He will get burned in the end. He should have stuck with RC and then drove abi off the island.

RC tries to do damage control to the situation but AM is not having any of it. In fact, she is not letting her get a word in without walking away. Pete smiles while Lisa is enjoying it. Lisa says she is breathing air to the girl-drama fire. This fight takes the heat off her.

Kalabaw

Jeff tries to bring Jonathan into the main alliance of the tribe. He sees the assets Jonathan can bring. And by asset he means immunity idol. Carter gets some camera time. He is the young blonde boy. Some people might consider him a twink despite the sexual orientation. Carter wants to work with Jonathan instead of against him. The male alliance is born.

The girls think the boys are up to no good and they organize an all-girl alliance. Dana is their leader and thinks that girls work better together when they are all together. A. The awkward moment when you miss your golden chance last season with a powerful girl’s alliance. B. You want to work with girls which mean they will have to work with Abi-Maria down the road. BaHAAHAHA good luck with that!

Matsing

Russell makes light of the tribe since 50% of its members are gone. According to his words, they had a smoker, lunatic, and a beauty queen. Malcolm laughs but knows that Russ is delusional. He lacks self-awareness and he is only there because they lose so much that his potential is muscle mass.

Russell knows he is in trouble if the tribe loses again. He searches for the immunity idol. Denise catches him and thinks he was trying to hide it away from camp. She tells Malcolm and they search his belongings for the idol. if they lose they want to make him feel safe so that they can blindside him without him using the idol.

~Immunity Challenge~

The tribes of 3 have to carry 2 pots across a bamboo obstacle course and place it on a stand. After all 6 pots are on the stand, one person swings a wrecking ball to smash the pots. The first tribe to smash all of their pots wins a steak and veggie dinner. The second placers get vegetables.

All the girls sat out of the challenge except for Denise. Malcolm is up first and paved a winning lead over the other 2 tribes. Carter has major difficulties in advancing his jars as the weight of the jars equals his body weight.

Matsing is in the lead (weird to write) with Tangdang on their heels. Kalabaw is falling out of it. During the 3rd heat Pete took over Denise’s lead and Yellow Tribe is now in the lead. Both tribes make it to the jar smashing point roughly the same tribe. It is a toe-to-toe battle to see who is getting first and second. But wait, Red is now catching up. By Matsing’s fourth broken jar, Kalabaw has 2 broken jars. Tangdang wins first and secure their steak dinner. Oh no… Matsing needs to pull out the win to avoid tribal. This episode predicted a comeback and it delivered. Unfortunately, it was talking about the comeback of Kalabaw on this challenge. With one jar left to break both guys kept swinging and missing. Until Jeff threw the wrecking ball up into the air for the jar to be tipped. But, when the ball returned it smashed their last jar giving the second place to the red tribe.

Russell is upset. He gave open prayer to the Lord which is quite awkward for the winners. He is sick of the same old ____.  Jeff intervenes by asking if he is talking to someone and he responds with  -  to the Lord. Russell has another breakdown. Jeff says he is not a superhuman but he is just a man. Someone will lose not everyone will win. You can’t expect to win everything.

Back at camp, Malcolm is at the lowest of lows. He wanted to cry after that devastating loss. He is currently in the middle of tonight’s vote. He can vote with Russell to keep the brawn together. On the flip side he can vote with his alliance member to vote out Russell. It was an easy choice for him as Russell was voted out 2-1. The first returning player got sent home. #Fail #Betterluck…ohwaitwe arenevercallingyouback..likeever!

 *Cue Taylor Swift song*

Best Moment of the Night =

Denise and Malcolm have a heart -to- heart about why he can't take a loss. Russell says when he was 8 he got jumped by 2 other children. They continued to bully him in school until one day he punched one of those kids in the head. He cried, and Russell didn't want to feel weak anymore through out his life.

Malcolm wanted advice from a therapist so he shared this with Denise. But the thing is.. she is a sex therapist so I don't know what kind of advice can she really give him.
