NEW YORK (WPIX)—Robert Pattinson, star of the wildly popular movie, "Twilight," was reportedly clipped by a New York City cab Thursday while running away from a crowd of hysterical teenage fans.
According to RadarOnline.com, the 23-year-old star was hit around noon outside of a shooting location for his new flick, "Remember Me," where a crowd of teenage girls had gathered.
Five security guards apparently tried to help Pattinson make it across the street to his trailer, but a yellow cab came out of nowhere and grazed him in front of the Strand Bookstore on Broadway and 12th Street.
According to reports, after the incident, one of Pattinson's bodyguards screamed at the girls, "You see what you did, you almost killed him!"
Luckily, amid all the chaos, the actor walked away unscathed.
As a result, the actor has hired his own security in addition to the bodyguards provided by Summit Entertainment, according to People, who adds that the actor maintains a positive mentality about his fan base.
"I think he appreciates it. He's not one to make a big deal about it. He's a chill guy and quiet so far," the source says. "I think he finds it a little weird that people are standing outside all day to get a glimpse of him, but grateful."
"Remember Me" is slated to hit the big screen in February 2010.
