How to create a brain-thirsty zombie costume

Feeling a little undead, are you? Getting hungry for a hunk of human flesh? That wicked zombie lifestyle is a favorite for Halloween this year. Here's how to get that undead look and become the creature of the moment.

Zombie purists are sticking with the resurrected corpses of a simpler time, modeling their costumes on the cult classic "Night of the Living Dead." That 1968 low-budget indie film popularized the zombie in American culture (and used chocolate syrup to simulate blood because the movie was shot in black-and-white).<br>
<br>
<b>What you'll need:</b> normal street wear (from the '60s for extra authenticity); zombie makeup; a stupefied, shuffling walk.<br>
<br>
<b>Where to get it:</b> "family makeup kit," $4.99, Walgreens, walgreens.com; clothing from local thrift stores.
