(GARDEN CITY, Kan.)—
Garden City police officers arrest two people in connection with a shooting last month. Two 26-year-old men were arrested Monday as investigators followed-up leads in the case from June 30. That is when a man was shot after an altercation between people in two vehicles.
Police says the two people arrested were in a black Dodge pick-up when they were involved in the altercation with several people inside a Toyota sedan. Investigators say the people in the Toyota threw a beer can at the pick-up, and the driver of the pick-up followed the Toyota.
The incident ended in the 600 block of E. Chestnut where people in both vehicles got out. One of the suspects had stopped to get a handgun, and fired multiple shots at the Toyota. One round struck a man in the back, two others hit a home, but no one was hurt inside that home.
The two suspects are being held in the Finney County Jail on suspicion of charges including attempted murder and aggravated battery. Police say they continue to investigate the incident.
