A lot of people without power are buying generators to make it through this disaster.

The Home Depot on Hershberger Road in Roanoke just got a shipment of generators and is expecting a second batch Monday night.

Another store in the area hasn't been as lucky.

The Tractor Supply Company in Franklin County opened its doors early Saturday morning to about 30 people, desperately waiting to buy generators.

Only nine were in the store and were gone within the first hour of opening.

The store manager sent an employee to the neighboring Tractor Supply stores in Danville and Eden to collect as many generators as possible.

The employee could only bring 11 more back in her truck.

"It was very heartbreaking having to go to the last couple of people, saying, 'Hey, I'm sorry we don't have enough to supply you,' and seeing them walk out the door," store manager Trina Beverly said. "If there way any way possible, we would have had enough generators, we would have done whatever we could."

She hopes to have more generators in stock soon, but the power could be back on before she gets them in.
