
A site survey by the National Weather Service in Blacksburg has confirmed an EF0 tornado touched down in Floyd County Sunday evening as a result of a severe thunderstorm.

LOCATION: 3mi SSW Indian Valley
ESTIMATED TOUCHDOWN TIME: 7:02pm Sunday
ESTIMATED WIND SPEED: 75 to 85
PATH WIDTH: 60yards
PATH LENGTH: 1.07miles
Touched down six-tenths of a mile WNW of the intersection of Indian Valley Post Office Road and Vaughns Mill Road. Tornado lifted about one mile NE of Shady Grove Road.
Numerous trees were snapped or uprooted and a few small structures were damaged, including a shed that was flattened.
