The Arts Council of the Blue Ridge hosts Kendig Awards

The Arts Council of the Blue Ridge is hosting its annual awards banquet tonight to honor art supporters in Southwest Virginia.

For 24 years the Perry F. Kendig Awards have recognized excellence in the arts. The event will be held at the Taubman Museum of Art.

There are nine award winners that will be honored at the banquet.

Individual Patron of the Arts: C. Nelson Harris

Arts & Cultural Organization: Community High School of Arts and Academics

Young Professional: Coleman Gutshall

Literary Artist: Dan Smith, Tom Field - Valley Business FRONT

Performing Artist: Pedro Szalay

Visual Artist: Paul Harrill

Lifetime Achievement: Nicholas & Jenny Taubman
