Campbell County gas station agrees to pay back customers for accused price gouging

A Campbell County gas station has agreed to pay back customers, following allegations of price gouging.

Owners of the Timberlake Citgo on Timberlake Road were accused of raising fuel prices more than 50 percent during the week of September 12th, 2008.

In a complaint filed against the station, customers reported a price of $5.39 for a gallon of unleaded gas.

Timberlake Citgo has reached a court settlement that forces it to reimburse customers who paid the higher price.

The station will also pay the state $1,500 for investigating the matter, and donate $500 to the American Red Cross.
