
Authorities found the man, they say, responsible for a hit-and-run on Smith Mountain Lake.
Gary Blizzard, Jr. of Roanoke is charged with reckless operation of a motor boat, failure to stop for an accident, disregard for regulatory water marker, and improper registration. We're told additional charges could be added.
The 29-year-old is accused of striking a fishing boat with his boat Sunday night in the Roanoke River section of the lake.
No one was injured in the wreck.

The Department of Game and Inland Fisheries is investigating a hit-and-run on Smith Mountain Lake.
It happened around 7:30 p.m. Sunday at channel marker R73, the Roanoke River section of the lake. We're told an individual was on a boat fishing when another boat traveling upstream struck the boat in the rear.
The suspect did not stop. Witnesses followed the boat to the Hardy boat ramp. According to Sgt. Bryan Young, a man and woman were seen loading the boat onto a trailer pulled by a red Chevy Blazer. It was last seen traveling north on Hardy Road towards Vinton.
We're told no one was injured. The victim's boat had substantial damage to it.
