A fire burning in a wood stove got out of control at a Pittsylvania County mobile home Wednesday night, killing one person inside.
The home was located on Sheva Road. Firefighters from Chatham and Gretna started putting out the flames around 10:20 p.m., but were not able to save a person inside the home.
Medical examiners in Roanoke are still working to positively identify the body. The Pittsylvania County Sheriff's Office is not releasing the person's name until family can be notified.
