Last week, Friday Night Bites took you to Dude's Drive-In in Christianburg.
This week News7's Natasha Ryan headed to Floyd County where Eastern Montgomery will take on Floyd County High School Friday night.
Deemed one of the three natural wonders of Floyd, she had to come to Ray's Restaurant, where it's much about the fun as it is about the food.
But we have to admit, the natural wonder part is self-proclaimed by owner Ray Hatcher. Although, one of his customers will gladly back him up.
"How often do you come here?," asked Natasha Ryan.
"Seven days a week," said a customer.
Yes, everyday. It's to the point now he doesn't even look at the menu.
"What are you eating?," asked Natasha Ryan.
"I don't know .... a philly cheese steak," said a customer.
Owner Ray ought to know his way around this place, considering 66 years ago he was born upstairs.
"I've been here on my own since '73," said Hatcher.
Ray bought the place from his parents.
"Years ago when mom first started one of her first sandwiches, wiener sandwiches," said Hatcher.
Since Natasha's never had fried hot dogs before, she asked him to cook one up for her and the News7 intern.
"You've made us all fans Ray, fried hot dogs," said Ryan.
Leeman, the head cook, showed Natasha how to make some of the other popular requests.
"How long have you worked here?," asked Ryan.
"Sixteen years," answered Leeman.
With an array of food, Natasha and crew took their seats to taste some of the favorites. Nine down, seven to go, Natasha Ryan will do it all again next week.
And remember, if you have a suggestion for her, shoot her an email.
