Raising the hairs on the back of your neck is not the typical way a community action agency raises funds.
But for Rooftop of Virginia, it's all in good fright and good fun.
In just three years the organization has built a reputation of having one of the best haunted houses in Southwest Virginia.
The non-profit offers help to many in Galax, Carroll County and Grayson County through its Head Start program, employment training, weatherization services among many others.
But its through the haunted house fundraiser that Rooftop provides emergency aid in fuel and heating assistance.
Bone-A-Part's Nightmare Mansion is the name of the attraction. For 3-dollars, you get admission to the "Frights Under the Rooftop" which features over 50 costumed characters who happen to be employees of the non-profit.
Bone-A-Part's Nightmare Mansion is open tonight through Saturday night at Rooftop of Virginia's facility in Galax. It's located at 206 North Main Street. The ghoulish fun begins each night at 5pm.
The admission price is $3 per trip through.
