
A woman who reported being abducted and raped back on July 8 in Covington has confessed she made the whole thing up.
At the time, she said she was abducted in Covington, forced to drive to a spot near the James River and assaulted.
Alicia Webb, age 27, of Lewisburg, WV is charged with giving a false report to police. We're told restitution to recover the cost of the investigation will also be sought.

The investigation of an abduction and rape that was reported on July 08, 2009, that began in the City of Covington and continued into the McKinney Hollow area of Alleghany County has been finalized. Alicia Webb, 27, of Lewisburg, WV, has confessed to investigators that the entire event was fabricated. The investigation has been ongoing since being reported to investigators with the Alleghany County Sheriff's Office and Covington Division of Police.
She has been charged with giving a false report to police, a misdemeanor that carries the possibility of up to 12 months in jail and/or a $2500.00 fine if convicted. Restitution to recover the cost of the investigation will also be sought when the case is heard.
