All lanes of Route 220 are now open. The crossover at Willow Branch will be closed.

Tow trucks are in the process of trying to upright the tractor trailer. One southbound lane of traffic is open, but the northbound traffic is stopped to allow the tow trucks in.
We're told the road should be cleared by 5 p.m., but driver should expect delays after it's cleaned up.

VDOT says one southbound lane of Route 220 has reopened near the Roanoke County/Franklin County line.

A tractor trailer carrying 38,000 pounds of Tupperware overturned on U.S. Route 220 near the Roanoke County/Franklin County line.
The southbound lanes are closed near Willow Branch Road, just in inside Roanoke County. VDOT plans to divert southbound traffic into one of the northbound lanes. There was no estimate of when the lanes would reopen.

Roanoke County Police Officers are on the scene of a single vehicle traffic crash involving a tractor trailer which has rolled over on its side. The location of the crash is in the southbound lanes of Franklin Road at Willow Branch which is near the Franklin County line. At this time officers are allowing cars and smaller vehicles to use the left lane to slowly pass the scene. Larger vehicles are encouraged to stay in the right hand lane as they will not be allowed to pass the limited width of travel space. The tractor trailer is carrying 38,000 pounds of Tupperware. There were no injuries in the crash. Officers are awaiting additional tow trucks to attempt to upright the tractor trailer.
