Mike Liut: The Stopper

<a href="http://www.nhl.com/ice/player.htm?id=8448865"  target="_blank">Mike Liut</a> , acquired in a trade with the St. Louis Blues in 1985, led the NHL with four shutouts in his second season. He enjoyed six successful seasons with Hartford, but was eventually traded to the Washington Capitals where a bad back forced him to retire in 1992. Liut is the Whalers' franchise record holder for goaltender wins (115) and shutouts (13).
