Piedmont Transportation says they made a delivery mistake last week at the Fas Mart on Virginia Avenue in Collinsville.
A spokesperson for the Chatham based company say a driver accidentally pumped gasoline instead of kerosene into an underground tank.
That type of kerosene is used for heaters. Safety officials say using gasoline could cause an explosion.
"I've worked quite a few fires where people are burned seriously when they simply made the mistake of putting the wrong fuel in a kerosene heater," said Randy Howell, the Henry County Fire Marshal.
The fuel was sold between Friday and Tuesday to a few people. Managers at the story will give refunds if the customer has a receipt.
The company is asking customers to call the store at 276-647-2071 if they have questions.
Fas Mart is located at 2758 Virginia Avenue in Collinsville across from McDonald's.
